Preparing To Go... Can You Help?

We are preparing for our adventure! One year in our RV, traveling to every state and homeschooling our girls along the way. We are so, so excited, but are also feeling a bit overwhelmed with the planning... want to help?!? Tell us your favorite vacationing spots...those little treasures along the way that we might never find in the travel books. Did you find a fabulous campground? Visit an amazing church? Hike breathtaking trails? Take an interesting tour? How about great local food or just amazing scenery? We would absolutely love your input as we plan out our year! And we hope this site will become a helpful resource in staying connected after our mid-June departure. We will be sure to update it often with blogs & photos as we certainly want to stay in touch. Feel free to reply with a blog post or to our emails... we'll look forward to your input! -Jim, Jeanne, Natalie & Alayna

  4. So excited for you. We went to Yellowstone a couple of years ago in June and got snowed into the park. It was fun that we saw the park covered in 10 inches of snow and then again a couple of days later it was totally green. It was like seeing the park in two different seasons durning one vacation. In Arizona we did the Pink Jeep tours in Sedona. Really like all the history and information that the guide gave us, we wouldn't have gotton as much information if we did it ourselves. Don't forget the Grand Teton's. In Pennsylvania there is the Pennsylvania grand canon and upper new york you can see the falls on the US side if you don't have a passport. Have a great one - Donna Fulton

  5. Praying for safe travels and will look forward to your blogs. Our favorite place was the Grand Canyon (South Rim) Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park. You will be greatly missed but richly rewarded in your journeys. Sandy & Katie Smith

  8. Another way to capture your trip would be for each person to use video cams and then combine/edit for a video montage at the end of the trip!

  9. You have to visit Yellowstone during "frazzle ice" time (April/ early May)....it's a bucket list item.

  11. Can't wait to follow your travels around the country. What a fabulous memory it will be for all of you! One of our favorite places we have been is the central Oregon coast. We stayed in a tiny town called Yachats. We spent hours exploring the tidepools which were full of sea anemones, crabs, sea cucumbers and starfish. There is a beautiful hike nearby to Cape Perpetua with spectacular views along the coast. Sea Lion Cave is close...it is a large sea cave 100ft. below surface (elevator ride) to view hundreds of sea lions in their natural habitat. We also rode dune buggies on the Oregon Sand Dunes. To me, this area is the most beautiful place...the most green, lush forest right along the crashing coast.

  12. Here's wishing that all your dreams for this trip come true! We have a few suggestions from our travels and homes around the country: the coast of Maine in the summer is so beautiful! Also Charlottesville, VA and T. Jefferson's home, Monticello take you right into the Blue Ridge Mtns. There's the Natchez Trace in Mississippi and Taos Pueblo, NM. So many great drives. Where are you going in Mexico? You will have so much fun discovering! We'll be thinking of you.

  16. Here are our suggestions for places to visit in Utah. Nine mile canyon in Price, Bear Lake on the Utah Idaho border (they have great shakes), Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake, Flaming Gorge on the Utah Wyoming border, the National Parks in southern Utah (Zion is really pretty), and we love golfing in the St. George/Hurricane area. Enjoy your trip! We are looking forward to reading about your experiences.
